  1. 1. Characterization of Amino Acid Transporters Transporters expressed in the central nervous system belonging to the Solute Carrier family SLC38

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Sofie Victoria Hellsten; Uppsala universitet.; [2016]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Solute carriers; amino acid transporter; SLC38 family; SLC38A8; SNAT8; SLC38A10; SNAT10; SLC38A9; SNAT9; amino acid starvation; AAR; mTORC1; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Abstract : In cells and organelles transporters are responsible for translocation of amino acids, sugars and nucleotides among others. In the central nervous system (CNS), amino acid transporters can function as neurotransmitter transporters and nutrient sensors. READ MORE

    Abstract : Shikimic acid production using recombinant E.coli has been developed during the past 15 years due to the increased demand of this product, primarily as a starting material for the anti-influensa medicine Tamiflu?. A detailed metabolic analysis of a shikimic acid producing E. READ MORE

  3. 3. Solute Carriers in Metabolism Regulation of known and putative solute carriers in the central nervous system

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Emilia Lekholm; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solute Carriers; transporter; amino acid starvation; glucose metabolism; MFS; SV2; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Abstract : Solute carriers (SLCs) are membrane-bound transporter proteins, important for nutrient, ion, drug and metabolite transport across membranes. A quarter of the human genome codes for membrane-bound proteins, and SLCs make up the largest group of transporter proteins. READ MORE

  4. 4. Feeding Strategies Based on Probing Control for E. coli and V. cholerae Cultivations

    University dissertation from Department of Automatic Control, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University

    Author : Lena de Maré; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2006]

    Abstract : The recombinant DNA techniques have made it possible to produce many different proteins for a wide range of applications. The vector encoding for the recombinant protein is often inserted in the bacterium E. coli as it is a well studied and a well-known organism. To achieve a high productivity, it is important to reach a high cell density. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamics in Protein Synthesis, Structural Studies of Translation Factors

    University dissertation from Department of Molecular Biophysics, Lund University

    Author : Martin Laurberg; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biophysics; Flexibility; Fusidic Acid; tRNA; Translation Factors; Ribosome; Molekylär biofysik;

    Abstract : Protein biosynthesis is performed on ribosomes. The ribosome is a complex of ribosomal RNA and proteins forming two subunits. A messenger RNA strand is decoded on the small subunit by charged aminoacyl transfer RNA (aa-tRNA) molecules and each tRNA molecule delivers its amino acid to the growing polypeptide chain on the large subunit.
