  1. 21. Nitric oxide, arginine and acute pancreatitis

    Author : Per Sandström; Jörgen Larsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Acute pancreatitis is a serious inflammatory condition which is managed symptomatically as there is no causal treatment to offer. The main background causes are alcohol abuse and gallstone disease. The inducing factors lead to a premature activation of pancreatic enzymes in the acinar cells and their subsequent release into the pancreatic tissue. READ MORE

  2. 22. Cellobiohydrolase I as a chiral sector

    Author : Mikael Hedeland; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Abstract : The protein cellobiohydrolase I (CBH I) immobilized on silica particles has been used as a chiral selector in liquid chromatography (LC) and the free enzyme has served as a chiral complexing agent in the background electrolyte in capillary electrophoresis (CE) using the partial tilling technique.The CE systems were much more efficient and more solutes could be enantioseparated than in the LC systems. 3. 23. Glycerol derivatives in the hydrogen autotransfer reaction - Development of C-C and C-N bond forming reactions

    Author : Anna Said Stålsmeden; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; amination; organic synthesis; sustainable precursors; alkylation; hydrogen autotransfer; glycerol;

    Abstract : Glycerol (1,2,3-propanetriol) is obtained as a byproduct in the biodiesel industry. In the quest for more sustainable starting materials for organic synthesis, glycerol with its three alcohol functionalities is a promising candidate. READ MORE

  4. 24. Asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones and azirines with NH-ligands

    Author : Peter Roth; Krister Zetterberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The Ru(arene)[(1S, 3R, 4R)-3-(Hydroxymethyl)-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane catalyst was optimized as ligand in the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones and resulted in increased activity and enantioselectivity of the catalyst. READ MORE

  5. 25. Transition Metal Hydrides : Biomimetic Studies and Catalytic Applications

    Author : Jesper Ekström; Hans Adolfsson; Jonathan Williams; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transition metals; catalysis; bioinorganic chemistry; hydrides; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, studies of the nature of different transition metal-hydride complexes are described. The first part deals with the enantioswitchable behaviour of rhodium complexes derived from amino acids, applied in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones. READ MORE
