  1. 1. Ammonium Feedback Control in Wastewater Treatment Plants

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Linda Åmand; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2014]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aeration control; ammonium feedback control; biological nitrogen removal; full-scale experiments; gain scheduling control; PI control; process control; repetitive control; wastewater treatment; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Abstract : The aeration process is often the single largest consumer of electricity in a wastewater treatment plant. Aeration in biological reactors provides microorganisms with oxygen which is required to convert ammonium to nitrate. Ammonium is toxic for aqueous ecosystems and contributes to eutrophication. 2. 2. Realising full-scale control in wastewater treatment systems using in situ nutrient sensors

    University dissertation from IEA, LTH, Box 118, SE-221 00 Lund, Sweden

    Author : Pernille Ingildsen; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2002]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reglerteknik; robotteknik; Automatiska system; control engineering; Instrumentation; Wastewater treatment; Control; Full-scale plants; Control structures; Electronics and Electrical technology; Elektronik och elektroteknik; robotics; Automation; kontroll av utsläpp; pollution control; Miljöteknik; Environmental technology;

    Abstract : Abstract A major change in paradigm is taking place in the operation of wastewater treatment plants as automatic process control is becoming feasible. This change is due to a number of different reasons, not least the development of online nutrient sensors, which measure the key parameters in the biological nutrient removal processes, i.e. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ammonium based aeration control in wastewater treatment plants Modelling and controller design

    University dissertation from Uppsala University

    Author : Tatiana Chistiakova; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Abstract : Wastewater treatment involves many processes and methods which make a treatment plant a large-scaled and complex system. A fundamental challenge is how to maintain a high process efficiency while keeping the operational costs low. READ MORE

  4. 4. On solution multiplicity and convergence rate in extremum seeking control With applications to the CANON process

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Olle Trollberg; KTH.; [2014]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extremum seeking control; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Extremum seeking control (ESC) is a classical adaptive control method aimed at locating and tracking optimal operating conditions in complex non-linear plants. Early results on ESC were restricted to plants that could bedescribed by Wiener or Hammerstein models. READ MORE
