  1. 1. Electrochemical Aspects of Miniaturized Analytical Platforms

    Author : Oliver Klett; Frank-Michael Matysik; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; electrochemical detection; microanalytical systems; on-chip CE; ESI; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis ties some electrochemical aspects of development and fabrication of an analytical system on a microchip together. These aspects develop through the fundamentals of amperometric detection in microsystems and microfabrication via the interaction of electrochemical detection and electrophoretic separation finally to the interfacing of a microsystem to the macro world. 2. 2. Characterization of dissolved organic matter : An analytical challenge

    Author : Claudia Patriarca; Jonas Bergquist; Lars Tranvik; Jeffrey A. Hawkes; Jonathan Martin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is the prevalent form of organic carbon in most aquatic environments. It is an ultra-complex mixture that plays a crucial role in global carbon cycling. Despite its importance it is still poorly understood due to its extreme heterogeneity and intricacy. READ MORE

  3. 3. Fundamental Studies on Direct Injection Nebulisers for Sample Introduction in ICP Spectrometry : Aerosol Properties, ICP Characteristics and Analytical Performance

    Author : Daniel Goitom Asfaha; Wolfgang Frech; Ralph Edward Sturgeon; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ICP; ICP-MS; ICP-OES; sample introduction; DIHEN; Vulkan DIN; non-spectral interferences; noise power spectra; analytical precision; plasma diagnostic parameters; particle dynamic analysis PDA ; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The performance of different types of nebulisers: Vulkan direct injection nebuliser (Vulkan DIN), direct injection high efficiency nebuliser (DIHEN), microconcentric nebuliser coupled to cyclonic or double pass spray chamber (MCN-C or MCN-DP, respectively) was investigated and compared when used for sample introduction to ICP-MS or ICP-OES. With ICP-OES, in axial viewing mode, intensity distributions across the radius of the plasma (radial intensity profiles) were determined for different spectral lines with Esum 1. READ MORE

  4. 4. Exploring the fate of emerging contaminants during hydrothermal regeneration of carbonaceous adsorbents

    Author : Pierre Oesterle; Stina Jansson; Jerker Fick; Ulrika Rova; Capucine Dupont; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Activated biochars; HTC; regeneration; analytical chemistry; adsorption; degradation; nontarget analysis; wastewater; circular economy; emerging contaminants; surface chemistry; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi; environmental science; miljövetenskap; Pharmaceutics; galenisk farmaci; analytisk materialfysik; analytical material physics; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Wastewater from households and industries commonly contain emerging contaminants that are not easily removed by most wastewater treatment plants. These contaminants can be removed through adsorption onto adsorbents, such as activated carbon or biochars. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of Enhanced Analytical Methodology in Pesticide Chemistry

    Author : Tuija Pihlström; Karin E Markides; Bengt-Göran Österdahl; Amadeo Rodríguez Fernández-Alba; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The analysis of pesticide residues in fruit, vegetables, rape seed and water has been improved using developments in sample handling and analytical techniques. The method development is associated with analytical difficulties, since pesticides currently used in agriculture represent a variety of chemical classes having very different physico chemical properties.
