1. Pointwise Maximal Leakage : Robust, Flexible and Explainable Privacy
Abstract : For several decades now, safeguarding sensitive information from disclosure has been a key focus in computer science and information theory. Especially, in the past two decades, the subject of privacy has received significant attention due to the widespread collection and processing of data in various facets of society. READ MORE

2. Information-Theoretic Generalization Bounds: Tightness and Expressiveness
Abstract : Machine learning has achieved impressive feats in numerous domains, largely driven by the emergence of deep neural networks. Due to the high complexity of these models, classical bounds on the generalization error---that is, the difference between training and test performance---fail to explain this success. READ MORE

3. Transport and environment incentive policy instruments : effects and interactions
Abstract : This dissertation studies issues related to the evaluation of the effects and interactions of transport and environmental incentive policy instruments. Essay 1: Green cars sterilize congestion charges: a model analysis of the reduced impact of Stockholm road tolls calibrates a modal-choice model with data from the Stockholm road toll and uses it to study the sensitivity of congestion toll effects to some seemly subtle changes in the toll system design and external circumstances. 4. REACTIVE TRANSPORT MODELLING OF DISSOLVED CO2 IN POROUS MEDIA : Injection into and leakage from geological reservoirs
Abstract : The geological sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the options of controlling the greenhouse gas emissions. However, leakage of CO2 from the storage reservoir is a risk associated with geological sequestration. Over longer times, large-scale groundwater motion may cause leakage of dissolved CO2 (CO2aq). 5. Regulation of VEGFR2 signaling in angiogenesis and vascular permeability
Abstract : Angiogenesis and vascular permeability occur in physiological and pathological conditions. Angiogenesis denotes the process of blood vessel formation from preexisting quiescent vessels. READ MORE
