  1. 1. Voltage sag ride-through of AC drives : control and analysis

    Author : Kai Pietiläinen; Hans-Peter Nee; Olli Pyrhönen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronic measurement and instrumentation; Elektronisk mät- och apparatteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on controller design and analysis for induction motor (IM) drives, flux control for electrically excited synchronous motors with damper windings (EESMs), and to enhance voltage sag ride-through ability and analysis for a wind turbine application with a full-power grid-connected active rectifier. The goal is to be able to use the existing equipment, without altering the hardware. READ MORE

  2. 2. Switched Bond Graphs : Simulation and Analysis

    Author : Krister Edström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bond graphs; Hybrid systems; Modeling; Simulation; Causality; Discontinuities;

    Abstract : In this thesis an approach to modeling and simulation of mode switching systems is investigated. This approach, switched bond graphs, is an extension of the bond graph language in the sense that it allows modeling of mode switching phenomena.The classical bond graph language as well as the switched bond graph language are presented.     Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Bilingualism; Bilingual education; Diglossia; Language practices; Language policy and planning; Wales; Welsh; Code-switching; Performativity; Discourse analysis; Conversation Analysis; Tvåspråkighet; Tvåspråkig utbildning; Diglossi; Språkliga praktiker; Språkplanering och språkpolitik; Wales; Walesiska; Kodväxling; Performativitet; Diskursanalys; Samtalsanalys; Bilingualism; Tvåspråkighet;

    Abstract : The recently established National Assembly for Wales (with the vision of a “truly bilingual Wales”) and bilingual schools are but two major sites in which bilingualism is reconstituting and repackaging Welsh.By close examination of the discourse(s) of language policy texts, the public discourse of one bilingual secondary school and the discussions of four focus groups composed of pupils from the same school, this study identifies three types of discourse which are particularly salient in contemporary Wales: a globalising discourse, a nationalist discourse and an ecology-of-language discourse. 4. 4. Optimal Switching Problems and Related Equations

    Author : Marcus Olofsson; Kaj Nyström; Saïd Hamadène; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optimal switching; stochastic control; variational inequalities; backward stochastic differential equations; incomplete information; stochastic filtering; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of five scientific papers dealing with equations related to the optimal switching problem, mainly backward stochastic differential equations and variational inequalities. Besides the scientific papers, the thesis contains an introduction to the optimal switching problem and a brief outline of possible topics for future research. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling and Quality Assessment of Atrial Fibrillatory Waves

    Author : Mikael Henriksson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ECG; signal processing; atrial fibrillation; signal quality; catheter ablation; atrial fibrillatory waves; f-waves;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis revolves around the analysis of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals during atrial fibrillation (AF). Special emphasis is put on the atrial fibrillatory waves, sometimes called the f-waves, which is the ECG component reflecting the electrical activity of the atria. READ MORE
