However, several theories beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics predicts new phenomena, which also result in dijet final states.     Abstract : How liquid water in atmospheric clouds distributes over droplets of different sizes is important for the initiation of rainfall, and for the optical properties of the atmosphere. Droplet-number densities and droplet-size distributions change rapidly at turbulent cloud edges, where mixing of cloudy and dry air causes cloud dilution and droplet evaporation. READ MORE

    Abstract : In this thesis we have used radio interferometry in order to perform high resolution spectral line studies of circumnuclear gas in AGN and starburst galaxies. Amongst the studied objects is the Seyfert 2 NGC5793, for which we find the high opacity HI absorption to be consistent with a 50-100 pc radius atomic disk aligned with the host galaxy disk.     Abstract : This thesis contains experimental work on guiding of highly charged ions through insulating nanocapillaries. We have studied the time evolution of angular distributions of transmitted ions under well defined initial conditions: already charged, as well as fully discharged nanocapillaries, by using a two-dimensional position sensitive Micro Channel Plate detector with a data acquisition system working in event mode.
