    Abstract : This thesis explores the development of parallel treebanks, collections of language data consisting of texts and their translations, with syntactic annotation and alignment, linking words, phrases, and sentences to show translation equivalence. We describe the semi-manual annotation of the SMULTRON parallel treebank, consisting of 1,000 sentences in English, German and Swedish. READ MORE

  2. 2. Genomics and bioinformatics approaches to functional gene annotation

    Author : Danielle Kemmer; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Biomedical research has been undergoing a quasi-revolution with the dawn of the genomics era. The flood of sequence data from the various genome projects, the task of cataloging the entire coding portion of a genome instead of identifying and characterizing individual genes, as well as technical demands accompanying these developments have posed great challenges to the research community. 3. 3. Active and Physics-Based Human Pose Reconstruction

    Author : Erik Gärtner; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; computer vision; human pose estimation; reinforcement learning; physics-based human pose estimation; active learning;

    Abstract : Perceiving humans is an important and complex problem within computervision. Its significance is derived from its numerous applications, suchas human-robot interaction, virtual reality, markerless motion capture,and human tracking for autonomous driving. The difficulty lies in thevariability in human appearance, physique, and plausible body poses. READ MORE
