  1. 1. A laboratory vehicle mock-up research work on truck driver’s selected seat position and posture : A mathematical model approach with respect to anthropometry, body landmark locations and discomfort

    Author : Kianoush Fatollahzadeh; Jan Forslin; Roland Kadefoers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; truck driving; anthropometry; body landmarks; discomfort; sitting posture; Other industrial engineering and economics; Övrig industriell teknik och ekonomi;

    Abstract : Professional truck drivers are highly exposed to fatigue and work related injuries. Truck drivers are common victims of musculoskeletal disorders, frequently suffering from pain symptoms particularly in the neck, shoulder and lower back. This situation is believed to be a contributor to the high absenteeism in this job category. READ MORE

  2. 2. The immune microenvironment of colorectal cancer - Relationship with survival, sidedness, and pre-diagnostic anthropometry

    Author : Jonna Berntsson; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Colorectal Cancer; T cells; B cells; PD-1; PD-L1; immune system; prognosis; anthropometry; obesity;

    Abstract : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide. Increasing evidence suggests that CRC should be considered a heterogeneous disease, with multiple differences between proximal and distal tumours. READ MORE

  3. 3. Anthropometry in the elderly. Population studies on longitudinal changes, secular trends and risk for morbidity and mortality

    Author : Debashish Kumar Dey; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anthropometry; height; body weight; body mass index; waist circumference; longitudinal changes; ageing; secular trends; stroke; morbidity; mortality; elderly;

    Abstract : The aims of this thesis were to a) describe longitudinal changes in height and body weight (BW) between the ages 70 and 95y; b) describe secular trends in height and BW of 70-year-olds and their relation to social and lifestyle factors; c) investigate waist circumference (WC) and body mass index (BMI) at age 70 as risk for stroke during a 15-y follow-up; and, d) examine the relationship between 1) BMI at age 70 and 15-y all- cause mortality, 2) the percentage of weight change from age 70 to 75 and subsequent 5- and 10-y mortality. The studies were performed within the framework of the gerontological and geriatric population studies in Göteborg, Sweden-the H70 studies. READ MORE
