1. The influence of temperature on enzyme selectivity in organic media
Abstract : The influence of different reaction parameters on enzyme selectivity was investigated. The reaction conditions studied were solvent dependence, water activity and reaction temperature. READ MORE

2. Biocatalysed redox reactions in aqueous and organic media
Abstract : This thesis deals mainly with biocatalysed methods for stereoselective reduction. D-(S)-chlorolactic acid was produced by both microbial and electromicrobial reduction of chloropyruvate using whole cells of Proteus vulgaris and an artificial electron mediator. The electron donor was formate, hydrogen gas or the cathode in an electrochemical cell. READ MORE

3. Polymers in Aqueous Lubrication
Abstract : The main objective of this thesis work was to gain understanding of the layer properties and polymer structures that were able to aid lubrication in aqueous media. To this end, three types of polyelectrolytes: a diblock copolymer, a train-of-brushes and two brush-with-anchor mucins have been utilized. READ MORE

4. Aqueous graphene dispersions for paper packaging
Abstract : Graphene is widely touted as the thinnest and the most versatile material available. As an atomically thin layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal configuration, graphene has a combination of technologically important properties, such as thermal and electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and impermeability to gases. 5. Evaluation of a Miniaturized Rotating Disk Apparatus for In Vitro Dissolution Rate Measurements in Aqueous Media : Correlation of In Vitro Dissolution Rate with Apparent Solubility
Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to evaluate a newly designed and constructed miniaturized rotating disk apparatus for in vitro dissolution rate measurements of different drug substances from all of the classes in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS). The new equipment is based on a low volume flow-through cell of Plexiglas, a gold plated magnetic bar and a special designed press. READ MORE
