11. Energy Efficient Window Systems. Effects on Energy Use and Daylight in Buildings
Abstract : This thesis deals with energy-efficient windows in Swedish buildings. Parametric studies were performed in the dynamic energy simulation tool Derob-LTH in order to study the effects of window choices on energy use and indoor climate for both residential and office buildings. READ MORE

12. Performance in the Swedish Building Code : An Inquiry into the Consequences for Architectural Design of the Formulation and Assessment of Performance Requirements
Abstract : This thesis investigates performance-based regulation in Sweden and its consequences for architectural design. In the last 50 years, there has been a transition from prescriptive to performance-based regulation, propelled by the drive to further innovation, productivity and competitiveness by expressing the functions expected of the buildings as performances. 13. Experimental and numerical study of the thermal and hydraulic effect of EMC screens in radio base stations : detailed and compact models
Abstract : Today’s telecommunication cabinets use Electro Magnetic Compliance (EMC) screens in order to reduce electromagnetic noise that can cause some miss functions in electronic equipment. Many radio base stations (RBSs) use a 90-degree building architecture: the flow inlet is perpendicular to the EMC screen, which creates a complex flow, with a 90-degree air turn, expansions, compressions, perforated plates and PCBs. 14. Optimal Design of District Energy Systems: a Multi-Objective Approach
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to develop a holistic approach to the optimal design of energy systems for building clusters or districts. The emerging Albano university campus, which is planned to be a vivid example of sustainable urban development, is used as a case study through collaboration with the property owners, Akademiska Hus and Svenska Bostäder. 15. Computationally Efficient and Adaptive Energy Management Strategies for Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Abstract : Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are irreplaceable in attaining sustainable development in contemporary society. Owing to the extra degree of freedom in supplying traction power, HEVs resort to appropriate energy management strategies (EMSs) to present their superiority over conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and pure electric vehicles.
