Formulated as a feminist project, written as a pulp fiction, Architectural Flirtations: A Love Storey begins with our claim that the architectural discipline is centered around a culture of critique, which is based in what bell hooks calls “a system of imperialist, white supremacist, heterosexist, capitalist, patriarchy,” and that the values instilled by this culture not only begin with, but are reinforced and reproduced by, the education of young architects.Sounds serious. Abstract :
This licentiate thesis presents a software architecture for inductive labeled dependency parsing of unrestricted natural language text, which achieves a strict modularization of parsing algorithm, feature model and learning method such that these parameters can be varied independently. The architecture is based on the theoretical framework of inductive dependency parsing by Nivre \citeyear{nivre06c} and has been realized in MaltParser, a system that supports several parsing algorithms and learning methods, for which complex feature models can be defined in a special description language. Abstract :
Multiculturalism, as a set of ideas and policies, is one of the normative approaches to the current situation of cultural diversity in multicultural cities. But how can the ideas of multiculturalism be translated into the reality of urban form? The overall aim of this dissertation is to provide a theoretical and conceptual frame of reference for distilling and identifying the ideas of multiculturalism which can be translated into spatial form, and in this way, to highlight the role urban form may play in addressing the situation of living living 'together-in-difference’ .
