    Keywords : G DNF; GFR-alpha-1 Strok; . Ischemia; receptors; calcium-binding proteins; gamma- aminobutyric acid; glutamic acid decarboxylase; dopamine; Parkinson s disease;

    Abstract : Background: Neurotrophic factors in the mammalian nervous system are important for development and survival of neurons and for maintenance and plasticity of synaptic connections. Additionally, they have been shown to prevent neurodegeneration after damage to the central nervous system (CNS). READ MORE

  2. 2. Identification and characterization of allergen components of the opportunistic yeast Malassezia furfur

    Author : Arezou Zargari; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Abstract : The yeast Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum orbiculare) is a member of the human normal skin microflora. It has been suggested that this yeast plays an important role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD). In 40-65% of patients with AD anti-M. furfur activity has been shown with skin tests and/or specific IgE serology. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of a Method for Accelerated Ageing of Cementitious Materials Used in Repositories for Nuclear Waste

    Author : Arezou Babaahmadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acceleration; Long-Term Performance; Calcium Leaching; Transport Properties; Cementitious Materials; Diffusion;

    Abstract : The Swedish nuclear fuel and waste management company (SKB), is required to validate the service life prediction of the concrete structures in nuclear waste repositories. Considering the repository being in contact with water , the decalcification process of cementitious materials although being very slow can during the very long operational lifetime of the repository (up to 100000 years), cause the degradation of chemical and mechanical properties of the concrete structures.
