11. The Uncemented Cup in Total Hip Arthroplasty : stability, Wear and Osteolysis
Abstract : Background: Artificial hip joint replacement has undergone tremendous development in the past 100 years. In the beginning, complications, such as infection and early loosening, were the rule rather than the exception. Today, complications of any sort are rare during the first decade after the operation. 12. A clinical study of uncemented hip arthroplasty : radiological findings of host-bone reaction to the stem
Abstract : In total hip arthroplasty (THA), the main reason for failure leading to revision is aseptic loosening. Both mechanical and biological effects act in the loosening process, the factors may be implant design, fixation mode or technique, as well as biological factors unique to the individual. READ MORE

13. Improvements in hip arthroplasty - did they work? Evaluations of different articulations and fixation concepts
Abstract : Today, total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the safest and most efficient surgical treatments. New materials, surgical techniques and design concepts intended to improve THA have not always been successful. READ MORE

14. Computed Tomography of Acetabular Cup Wear and Effect of Surface Roughness on Wear and Oxidation of UHMWPE Hip Prostheses
Abstract : Aseptic loosening is the most common complication in total hip replacement (5- 10% at 10 years follow up). The magnitude of the problem is illustrated by the fact that about one million hip prostheses are implanted worldwide each year. READ MORE

15. Hip revisions with impacted morselized allograft bone and cement. Patient outcome, prosthetic fixation and risks
Abstract : 144 consecutive hip revisions performed with morselized allograft bone and cement were followed up to 5 years after surgery. In 49 hips patient outcome was evaluated with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) questionnaire and Charnley hip scores in 47 hips prosthetic fixation was evaluated with radiostereometry (RSA)and in all 144 hips risks and complications were recorded using a prspective protocol.
