1. Assembly and Secretion of Atherogenic Lipoproteins
Abstract : The classical dyslipidemia seen in patients with type 2 diabetes is characterized by elevated serum triglycerides (TG), low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and the appearance of small, dense low-density lipoproteins (LDL). It is now recognized that the different components of diabetic dyslipidemia are not isolated abnormalities but are closely linked to each other metabolically, and are initiated by the hepatic overproduction of large triglyceride-rich very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL1). 2. Planning Robotic Assembly Sequences
Abstract : In the automotive industry, short ramp up times and high product quality drive the development toward state-of-the-art solutions both in the research and industrial perspective. In addition to that, a sustainable industry requires optimized equipment utilization, in terms of materials used and consumed energy. READ MORE

3. Software Tools and Algorithms for Shotgun Sequence Assembly
Abstract : During the last ten years, a genomics revolution has changed the ways biological research is carried out. The draft sequence of the human genome is available, as well as the sequence of 84 other completed genomes. READ MORE

4. Assembly of the Caledonian Orogenic Wedge, Jämtland, Sweden
Abstract : Collisional orogeny creates the largest mountain belts on Earth. The Caledonides of Scandinavia are a deeply eroded, ancient mountain belt, which today exposes a deep section through the former orogenic interior. READ MORE

5. Thermodynamics of Protein Folding and Design
Abstract : The protein folding and protein design problems are addressed, using coarse-grained models with only two types of amino acids, hydrophobic and hydrophilic. In addition to hydrophobicity forces, the models contain sequence-independent local interactions which are found to strongly influence the thermodynamics of these models. READ MORE
