Abstract : The overall objective of this thesis was to investigate patients with TMD-pain and TMD-free controls in three cultures (Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Italy) to determine the influence of culture on and crosscultural differences in pain prevalence and intensity, sensitivity to mechanical and electrical stimulation, pain-related disability for four comorbid pain conditions (back, head, chest, and stomach pain) in the last 6 months, and the type of treatment that patients with TMD pain received. Abstract : The aims of this study were to investigate the prevalence of locomotor disturbances among elderly and the consequences for their life situation, and to test two well-documented American tools on disabled elderly.Screening tests among elderly in two Swedish counties showed that 22 per cent of those aged 60 and above reported difficulties in mobility.
