  1. 1. Protein Model Quality Assessment : A Machine Learning Approach

    Author : Karolis Uziela; Arne Elofsson; Liam McGuffin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Protein Model Quality Assessment; structural bioinformatics; machine learning; deep learning; support vector machine; proq; Artificial Neural Network; protein structure prediction; Biochemistry towards Bioinformatics; biokemi med inriktning mot bioinformatik;

    Abstract : Many protein structure prediction programs exist and they can efficiently generate a number of protein models of a varying quality. One of the problems is that it is difficult to know which model is the best one for a given target sequence. Selecting the best model is one of the major tasks of Model Quality Assessment Programs (MQAPs). READ MORE

  2. 2. eScience Approaches to Model Selection and Assessment : Applications in Bioinformatics

    Author : Martin Eklund; Jarl Wikberg; Ron Wehrens; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioinformatics; high-throughout biology; eScience; model selection; model assessment; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Abstract : High-throughput experimental methods, such as DNA and protein microarrays, have become ubiquitous and indispensable tools in biology and biomedicine, and the number of high-throughput technologies is constantly increasing. They provide the power to measure thousands of properties of a biological system in a single experiment and have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of biology and medicine. READ MORE

  3. 3. Model-Implemented Fault Injection for Robustness Assessment

    Author : Rickard Svenningsson; Martin Törngren; Sasikumar Punnekkat; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fault Injection; Model-Implemented Fault Injection; Robustness; Assessment; ISO 26262; ISO 61508; Software;

    Abstract : The complexity of safety-related embedded computer systems is steadilyincreasing. Besides verifying that such systems implement the correct functionality, it is essential to verify that they also present an acceptable level of robustness. READ MORE

  4. 4. Assessment in Multilingual Schools : A comparative mixed method study of teachers’ assessment beliefs and practices among language learners - CLIL and migrant students

    Author : Helena Reierstam; Ulf Fredriksson; Eva Eliasson; Meeri Hellstén; John Airey; Stockholms universitet; []

    Abstract : This thesis presents the results from two research projects on teachers’ assessment beliefs and practices in multilingual education. Study I involved teachers of biology, history or English as a foreign language (EFL) in Swedish upper secondary Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) schools, grades 10-12, where English is used as the medium of instruction. 5. 5. Urban drainage and climate change : impact assessment

    Author : Karolina Berggren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Abstract : According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007), the global mean temperature has increased by 0,7 °C during the last 100 years and, as a consequence, the hydrological cycle has intensified with, for example, more intense rainfall events. As urban drainage systems have been developed over a long period of time and design criteria are based upon climatic characteristics, these changes will affect the systems and the city accordingly.
