1. Exploration of Supraventricular Conduction with respect to Atrial Fibrillation. Methodological Aspects on Selected Techniques
Abstract : Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia that demands medical attention. Computer-based detailed analysis of cardiac electrical signals from healthy subjects and patients with a history of atrial fibrillation has become an important tool in the further clarification of this disease. 2. ATRIOVENTRICULAR CONDUCTION in Patients with Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardias
Abstract : This thesis concerns retrospective and prospective studies of the atrioventricular (AV) conduction properties in patients with cardiac arrhythmias. The objectives of the retrospective studies were to further delineate the sex distribution in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) and AV nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) and to determine the underlying mechanisms of the differences in sex distribution, to investigate the relationship between the conduction properties of normal and accessory AV pathway, and to evaluate their conduction properties with respect to accessory pathway location. 3. Model-based Analysis of Temporal Patterns in Atrioventricular Node Conduction During Atrial Fibrillation
Abstract : The lifetime risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF) is estimated to be between 1in 3 to 1 in 4 individuals, making it the most common arrhythmia in the world. For persistent AF, rate control drugs with the purpose to affect the conduction properties of the atrioventricular (AV) node are the most common treatment. 4. Cardio-pulmonary function in familial amyloidosis with polyneuropathy : a clinical study of cases from northern Sweden
Abstract : Familial amyloidosis with polyneuropathy (FAP) was first reported from Portugal in 1952, but since then this syndrome has been recognized in many countries including Sweden. In this investigation cardiac and pulmonary functions in the Swedish variety of FAP were studied. READ MORE

5. Atrioventricular synchronous pacing in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
Abstract : The study addresses major issues of cardiac pacing in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). The influence of ventricular pacing site and atrioventricular (AV)-delay on left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) gradient. READ MORE
