  1. 1. Aspects of ZnT8 autoimmunity in childhood type 1 diabetes

    Author : Cecilia K Andersson; Pediatrisk endokrinologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Type 1 diabetes; Zinc transporter; ZnT8 autoantibodies; HLA; islet cell autoantibodies; GAD65 autoantibodies; IA-2 autoantibodies; insulin autoantibodies; glucose tolerance;

    Abstract : Type 1 diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in childhood and adolescence with an increasing incidence worldwide. It is an autoimmune disease with many autoimmune markers, where the zinc transporter 8 autoantibody (ZnT8A) is the most recent autoantibody discovered. READ MORE

    Author : Daniel Agardh; Pediatrisk endokrinologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; serologi; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; Immunology; serology; transplantation; villous atrophy; T cells; serological marker; screening; intestinal mucosa; children; celiac disease; CD25; CD8; CD4; autoantibodies; B cells; gluten-free diet; autoimmunity;

    Abstract : Celiac disease is a prevalent small bowel disease in children caused by permanent intolerance against gliadin, which is the alcohol-soluble fraction of the cereal protein gluten in wheat, rye and barley. Celiac disease is characterized by an inflammatory infiltrate of CD4+ T lymphocytes in the intestinal mucosa leading to damage of villous structure and loss of absorptive surface. READ MORE

  3. 3. Autoantibodies and genetic variation in rheumatoid arthritis : aspects on susceptibility and disease course

    Author : Alf Kastbom; Thomas Skogh; Peter Söderkvist; Alex Karlsson-Parra; Linköpings universitet; []

  5. 5. On the profiling of autoantibodies in psychiatric disorders

    Author : David Just; Peter Nilsson; Anna Månberg; Jochen M. Schwenk; Angela Vincent; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; affinity proteomics; microarrays; suspension bead array; autoantibodies; autoimmunity; psychiatric disorders; schizophrenia;

    Abstract : There is a great need to increase our understanding of diseases affecting the brain and their underlying pathogenic mechanisms. To address this need, the work presented in this thesis applied affinity based proteomic techniques to profile proteins, and to investigate protein profiles and the autoantibody repertoire in brain related disorders.
