  1. 1. Antimony recovery from complex copper concentrates through hydro- and electrometallurgical processes

    Author : Samuel Ayowole Awe; Olof Forsén; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : Today, one of the major difficulties confronted during copper metallurgy is the elimination of antimony and arsenic impurities from the process. This is because the pure copper ore reserves are becoming exhausted and the resources of unexploited ores often contain relatively high amounts of antimony and arsenic. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydrometallurgical upgrading of a tetrahedrite-rich copper concentrate

    Author : Samuel Ayowole Awe; Gouzhu Ye; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : Removal of impurity elements in copper metallurgy is one of the major problems encountered today since pure copper ore reserves are becoming exhausted and the resources of unexploited ores often contain relatively high amounts of antimony, arsenic, mercury and bismuth, which need to be eliminated. The present work aims at pre-treating a tetrahedrite rich complex copper sulphide concentrate by selective dissolution of the impurities, therefore, upgrading it for pyrometallurgical processing. The metaphors with which awe can be described therefore never fully define what it feels like to be affected by awe: awe is motion, elevation, lightness, and flight. READ MORE

  4. 4. Airborne Wind Energy - to fly or not to fly?

    Abstract : This thesis investigates crosswind Airborne Wind Energy Systems (AWESs) in terms of power production and potential role in future electricity generation systems. The perspective ranges from the small scale, modelling AWE as a single system, to the large, implementing AWESs in regional electricity systems. READ MORE
