6. Cytochrome c biogenesis in Bacillus subtilis. Identification and analysis of ccdA
Abstract : Cytochromes function in electron transfer reactions, e.g. in respiratory systems, and contain haem as a prosthetic group. Cytochromes of the c-type differ from other cytochromes in that haem is covalently attached, via thioether linkages, to two cysteine residues in a conserved sequence motif in the protein, Cys-Xaa-Yaa-Cys-His. 8. Highly enantioselective synthesis of lactam and sugar derivatives by chiral aminocatalysis and merging with transition metal catalysis
Abstract : This thesis presented novel methodologies for enantioselectivesynthesis of highly functionalized lactam and sugar derivatives.Asymmetric organocatalysis, cooperative dual catalysis and one-pot multicomponent reaction strategies were applied for the construction of continuous and quaternary stereogenic center. 9. Object-plasma interaction in the vicinity of Enceladus
Abstract : The Cassini spacecraft orbits Saturn since 2004, carrying a multitude of instruments for studies of the plasma environment around the planet as well as the constituents of the ring system. Of particular interest to the present thesis is the large E ring, which consists mainly of water ice grains, smaller than a few micrometres, referred to as dust. READ MORE

10. Multi-messenger emission from gamma-ray bursts
Abstract : Multi-messenger astronomy is a very hot topic in the astrophysical community. A messenger is something that carries information. Different astrophysical messenger types are photons, cosmic rays, neutrinos, and gravitational waves. They all carry unique and complementary information to one another. READ MORE
