  1. 1. B-cell responses after pertussis vaccination

    Author : Maja Jahnmatz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Despite years of vaccination efforts, whooping cough, or pertussis, is not under control. Although immunization has greatly reduced the disease incidence, thousands of children die of whooping cough each year. READ MORE

  3. 3. TRIM21/ Ro52 in B cell pathology

    Author : Susanna Brauner; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) is a systemic autoimmune disease affecting 0.2% of the population. Several B cell aberrances have been linked to pSS, such as autoantibody production, hypergammaglobulinemia and B cell associated genetic polymorphisms. In addition, pSS patients display a 16 fold increased risk to develop B cell lymphomas. READ MORE

  4. 4. B cell subsets in autoimmune disease

    Author : Katrin Habir; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : B lymphocytes are a type of white blood cells, belonging to the adaptive arm of the immune system and involved in creating immunological memory. B cells function in the humoral immune system by secreting antibodies which can bind pathogens to prevent them from doing further damage and to help other immune cells to target them. READ MORE

  5. 5. Array-based Characterization of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia : - with Focus on Subsets Carrying Stereotyped B-cell Receptors

    Author : Millaray Marincevic; Richard Rosenquist; Andreas Rosenwald; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; array-based characterization; stereotyped B-cell receptors; subsets; antigens; SNP array; gene expression array; methylation array; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Clinical Genetics; Klinisk genetik;

    Abstract : In chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), the presence of multiple subsets expressing ‘stereotyped’ B-cell receptors (BCRs) has implicated antigen(s) in leukemogenesis. These stereotyped subsets display similar immunoglobulin (IG) gene usage, almost identical complementarity determining region 3’s and may share clinical features. READ MORE
