1. An Alkaline Active Cyclodextrin Glycosyltransferase from an Alkaliphilic Bacillus agaradhaerens
Abstract : Soda lakes represent the most stable naturally-occurring alkaline environments on Earth and harbour a diverse population of alkaliphiles. Alkaliphilic microorganisms have attracted a great interest due to their ability to produce extracellular enzymes that are active and stable at high pH values. READ MORE

2. Quaternary structure and interaction approaches to allosteric regulation of class I ribonucleotide reductases
Abstract : Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) chains in which our genetic blueprint is stored are built from four DNA precursors by DNA polymerases. The enzyme ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) provides the only de novo synthesis pathway of deoxyribonucleotides from ribonucleotides and is essential for nearly all organisms. READ MORE

3. Virulence determinants of the insect pathogen Bacillus thuringiensis; : Molecular characterization of flagellins and the virulence protease immune inhibitor A
Abstract : Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a motile, Gram positive, rod-shaped and spore-forminginsect pathogenic bacterium found on plants and in soil. The main insecticidal activityresides in a proteinacious crystal inclusion body (the S-endotoxin), but also the sporesare important for lethality. READ MORE

4. Beta-Lactamase in Haemophilus ducreyi: Purification, Characterization, and Mutagenesis
Abstract : Chancroid caused by Haemophilus ducreyi, has been described as a significantly predisposing factor of HIV heterosexual transmission in an endemic region of both diseases. Antibiotic resistances are extensively found in H. ducreyi and many of the resistances are due to the presence of resistance plasmids. READ MORE

5. An Alkaline Active Endo-Xylanase from Bacillus halodurans S7:Molecular and Structural Aspects
Abstract : A strain of an alkaliphilic bacterium Bacillus halodurans was isolated from a water sample in Lake Shalla, a soda lake in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. From the culture of this isolate, B. halodurans S7, a xylanase which is active in a wide range of pH, with an optimum at about 9-9.5 was purified. READ MORE
