  1. 1. Quasi Resonant DC Link Converters - Analysis and Design for a battery Charger Application

    Author : Per Karlsson; [1999]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; quasi resonant DC link converter; soft switching; converter efficiency; IGBT; battery charger;

    Abstract : Environmental aspects have during the last years made electric vehicles an interesting competitor to the present internal combustion engine driven vehicles. For a broad introduction of pure electric vehicles, a battery charging infrastructure is deemed necessary. However, to build and maintain such an infrastructure is costly. READ MORE

  2. 2. Integrated Motor Drives and Battery Chargers for Electric or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    Author : Saeid Haghbin; [2013]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; maximum torque per Ampere strategy.; integrated motor drive and battery chargers; field-oriented control; battery charger; isolated and non-isolated integrated charges; Plug-in vehicles; split-phase PM motor;

    Abstract : Plug-in vehicles, electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, use grid power to charge the battery. The components in the traction circuit, like the electric motor and the inverter, are not used during the battery charging, so there is a possibility to use them in the charger circuit to reduce the size, weight and price of the on-board charger; that is called an integrated motor drive and battery charger or simply an integrated charger which can be galvanically isolated or non-isolated from the utility grid. 3. 3. An Isolated Integrated Charger for Electric or Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Saeid Haghbin; [2011]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Galvanic Isolation; Grid Synchronization; Vehicle Applications; Integrated Battery Charger;

    Abstract : For electric and hybrid vehicles using grid power to charge the battery, traction circuit components are not normally engaged during the charging time, so there is a possibility to use them in the charger circuit to have an on-board integrated charger.In this Licentiate thesis, an isolated high power integrated charger is proposed, designed and constructed based on a special ac machine with a double set of stator windings called motor/generator. 4. 4. Investigation of a Multilevel Inverter for Electric Vehicle Applications

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Oskar Josefsson; [2015]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Plug-in Electric Vehicle PEV ; Electric Vehicle EV ; LiFePO4.; Integrated Charger; Efficiency; Drive Cycle; Battery modelling; Multilevel Inverter MLI ; Two-level Inverter TLI ;

    Abstract : Electrified vehicles on the market today all use the classical two-level inverter as the propulsion inverter. This thesis analyse the potential of using a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter as the propulsion inverter. READ MORE

  5. 5. Energy Efficiency Comparison Between Two-level and Multilevel Inverters for Electric Vehicle Applications

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Oskar Josefsson; [2013]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Vehicle EV ; Drive Cycle; Plug-in Electric Vehicle PEV ; Multilevel Inverter MLI ; Two-level Inverter TLI ; Efficiency.; Integrated Charger;

    Abstract : In order to contribute to the development of energy and cost efficient electric vehicles, a thorough analysis of two different electric converter topologies is performed, considering different drive cycles and different control strategies. In the electric vehicles available on the market today, a high voltage (200−400 V ) battery pack composed of several battery modules is connected to one or more inverters which create AC voltages to the electric propulsion machines.
