  1. 1. Aging sensitive battery control

    Author : Malin Andersson; Mikael Johansson; Matteo Corno; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lithium-ion battery; battery control; parameter identification; equivalent circuit model; Doyle-Fuller-Newman model; sensitivity analysis; optimal experiment design; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The battery is a component with significant impact on both the cost and environmental footprint of a full electric vehicle (EV). Consequently, there is a strong motivation to maximize its degree of utilization. Usage limits are enforced by the battery management system (BMS) to ensure safe operation and limit battery degradation. READ MORE

    Author : Hamza Bouchouireb; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Peter Göransson; Rupert J. Baumgartner; José Potting; Mario Hirz; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Life cycle energy optimisation; Multidisciplinary optimisation; Integrative design; Sustainable vehicle design; Functional conflicts; Vehicle aerodynamics; Battery energy storage systems; Robust design; Uncertainty propagation; Livscykelenergi; Fordonsdesign; Optimering; Tvär-funktionella konflikter; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis explores how the systemic-level environmental footprint of light-duty vehicles could be reduced through integrative design using the Life Cycle Energy Optimisation (LCEO) methodology. This methodology aims at finding a design solution that uses a minimum amount of cumulative energy demand over the different phases of the vehicle's life cycle; while complying with a set of functional constraints, thereby avoiding any sub-optimal energy demand shifts between the vehicle's different life cycle phases. 4. 4. Microphase Separated Cation Conducting Polymers : Design, Synthesis, and Properties

    Author : Hannes Nederstedt; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer; Litiumbatteri; Mikrofasseparering; Bränslceller; Elektrolyt; Polymerelektrolyt; Polymera bränslecellsmembran; Polymer electrolyte fuel cells; Polymer electrolyte; Polymer electrolyte membrane; Microphase separation; Lithium battery; Polymer; Fuel cell; Proton exchange membrane PEM ;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the synthesis and properties of five different cation conducting polymer systems. These systems were designed so that the polymers would be able to microphase separate into distinct phases with one phase for mechanical strength and one for ionic conductivity. READ MORE
