  1. 1. Adolescent behavior : Links to early-life stress and alcohol in male and female rats

    Author : Stina Lundberg; Erika Roman; Ingrid Nylander; Heidi MB Lesscher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescence; alcohol exposure; behavior; corticosterone; dynorphin; early life; endogenous opioid peptides; Met-enkephalin-Arg6Phe7 MEAP ; individual differences; multivariate concentric square field MCSF ; phenotyping; radioimmunoassay; selective breeding for alcohol consumption; voluntary alcohol intake; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : Adolescence is an important developmental phase with large changes in behavior, physiology and neurobiology, which transform an individual from immature child to independent adult. Due to these changes, adolescence is a sensitive period for exposure to environmental factors such as stress and drug exposure; it is also a common age of onset for alcohol consumption as well as several psychiatric disorders. 2. 2. Movement behavior and mental health in office workers : Associations and intervention effects

    Author : Lisa-Marie Larisch; Victoria Blom; Lena Kallings; Maria Hagströmer; Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; workplace health promotion; mental health; office workers; 24 h movement behavior; physical activity; sedentary behavior; multi-level intervention; ecological model of health behavior; behavior change; Medicin Teknik; Medicine Technology;

    Abstract : Mental disorders pose a significant global health challenge. To effectively address this challenge, mental health promotion must be included in various sectors, including workplaces. Various strategies for promoting mental health in the workplace have been suggested, including interventions aimed at improving movement behavior, i.e. READ MORE

  3. 3. Towards computational models for road-user interaction: Drivers overtaking pedestrians and cyclists

    Author : Alexander Rasch; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; active safety; vulnerable road users; cyclist safety; driver models; interaction models; overtaking; Euro NCAP; driver behavior; Pedestrian safety;

    Abstract : Introduction: Crashes resulting from a failed interaction between drivers and vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians or cyclists, can lead to severe injuries or fatalities, especially after failed overtaking maneuvers on rural roads where designated refuge areas are often absent, and impact speeds high. This thesis contains two studies that shed light on driver interaction with either 1) a pedestrian or 2) a cyclist, and oncoming traffic while overtaking. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computational driver behavior models for vehicle safety applications

    Author : Malin Svärd; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver adaptation; Driver models; Visual attention; Safety benefit assessment; Evidence accumulatoin; PrARX; Hybrid dynamical systems; ADAS; Predictive processing;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to investigate how human driving behaviors can be formally described in mathematical models intended for online personalization of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) or offline virtual safety evaluations. Both longitudinal (braking) and lateral (steering) behaviors in routine driving and emergencies are addressed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Geometric Models of Similarity

    Author : Mikael Johannesson; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
