  1. 1. On Generic Road Vehicle Motion Modelling and Control

    Author : Johan Andreasson; Annika Stensson Trigell; Matt Best; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : With the increased amount of on-board electric power driven by the ongoing hybridization, new ways to realize vehicles are likely to occur. This thesis outlines a future direction of vehicle motion control based on the assumptions that: 1) future vehicle development will face an increased amount of available actuators for vehicle propulsion and control that will open up for an increased variety of possible configurations, 2) the onboard computational power will continue to increase and allow higher demands on active safety and drivability that will require a tighter interaction between sensors and actuators, 3) the trend towards more individualized vehicles on common platforms with shorter time-to-market require design approaches that allow engineering knowledge to be transferred conveniently from one generation to the next. Abstract : Capillary-based platforms for diagnostics are popular for the point-of-care diagnostics market because of their low cost, easy fabrication, and easy operation. Lateral flow tests are an excellent example of capillary-based platforms for point-of-care diagnostics. READ MORE

  3. 3. Change Point Detection with Applications to Wireless Sensor Networks

    Author : Markus Eriksson; Tomas Olofsson; Idris Eckley; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Change Point Detection; Signal Processing; Dynamic Programming; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Signal Processing; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot signalbehandling;

    Abstract : In this thesis work we develop a new algorithm for detecting joint changes in statistical behavior of multiple, simultaneously recorded, signals. Such signal analysis is commonly known as multivariate change point (CP) detection (CPD) and is of interest in many scientific and engineering applications. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the Value of Customer Loyalty Programs - A Study of Point Programs and Switching Costs

    Author : Henrik Sällberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; loyalty programs; point programs; switching costs; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Economic Information Systems; Ekonomiska informationssystem;

    Abstract : The increased prevalence of customer loyalty programs has been followed by an increased academic interest in schemes. This is partly because the Internet has made competition 'one click away'. It is also because information technology has made it more economical for firms to collect customer information by way of loyalty programs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Potential Flow Panel Methods for the Calculation of Free-surface Flows with Lift

    Author : Carl-Erik Janson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; desingularized; shape optimization; Rankine source; waves; OCTOPUS; dipole; MMA; Dawson operator; boundary layer; vortex; Method of Moving Asymptotes; nonlinear; sailing yacht; four point operator; surface piercing wing; Navier-Stokes; numerical method; lift force; raised panel method; discrete Fourier transform; collocation point shift; potential flow; CFD; free surface; induced drag; SHIPFLOW; dispersion; damping; analytical method; hydrofoil;

    Abstract : Two non-linear Rankine-source panel methods are developed and implemented in the same computer code. The first method uses a four-point upwind operator on the free-surface to compute the velocity derivatives and to enforce the radiation condition while the second method uses an analytical expression for the velocity derivatives and a collocation point shift one panel upstream to prevent upstream waves.
