  1. 21. Externally unbonded post-tensioned CFRP tendons : a system solution

    Author : Anders Bennitz; Chris Burgoyne; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFRP; prestress; tendon; external; unbonded; anchorage; beams; CFRP; förspänning; vajer; utanpåliggande; icke vidhäftande; förankring; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : The introduction of Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP) to the civil engineering market in the late 1980s resulted in the emergence of a range of new tools for rehabilitating and strengthening concrete structures. Strengthening using FRPs is typically accomplished using non-prestressed externally bonded FRPs. READ MORE

  2. 22. Multiphase models for freeze-thaw actions and mass transport in concrete hydraulic structures

    Author : Daniel Eriksson; Anders Ansell; Richard Malm; Erik Nordström; Stefan Jacobsen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Degradation; Hydraulic structures; Air-entrained concrete; Multiphase models; Multiphysics; Long-term moisture conditions; Freeze-thaw; Hysteresis; Absorption; Calcium leaching; Finite Element Method; Concrete Structures; Betongbyggnad;

    Abstract : A crucial task for civil engineers is to make appropriate designs of new concrete structures and assessments of existing structures to ensure a long service life and sustainable use of the infrastructure. This doctoral thesis aims to increase the understanding of how advanced mathematical models can be used to describe phenomena and processes governing concrete degradation and thereby ultimately contribute to improving tools for design and assessments. 3. 23. Warhead penetration in concrete protective structures

    Author : Håkan Hansson; Anders Ansell; Mattias Unosson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Warhead penetration; FE analysis; experiment; material modelling; fortifications; Stridsdelspenetration; FE-analyser; experiment; materialmodellering; fortifikationer;

    Abstract : The analysis of penetration of warheads in concrete protective structures is an important part of the study of weapon effects on protective structures. This type of analysis requires that the design load in the form of a warhead is determined, and its characteristic and performance within a protective structure is known. READ MORE

  4. 24. Numerical models for degradation of concrete in hydraulic structures due to long-term contact with water

    Author : Daniel Eriksson; Anders Ansell; Richard Malm; Erik Nordström; Katja Fridh; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; degradation; deterioration mechanisms; hydraulic structures; air-entrained concrete; multiphase model; long-term moisture conditions; pore size distribution; freezing; partially saturated; finite element method; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : The durability of concrete is of major concern in all types of concrete structures where the combined effect of exposure conditions and the type and quality of the concrete material usually determines the rate of degradation. Furthermore, there are synergy effects between different deterioration mechanisms, which means that the combined rate of degradation is higher than the sum of the individual rates of each mechanism. 5. 25. The influence of ageing on the salt-frost resistance of concrete

    Author : Peter Utgenannt; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materiallära; materialteknik; Building construction; Material technology; freeze thaw testing; hydration; field exposure; carbonation; drying; Byggnadsteknik; ageing; salt-frost resistance; Concrete;

    Abstract : Abstract This thesis presents the results of an investigation of the influence of ageing on the salt-frost resistance of concrete. The ageing mechanisms investigated were hydration, drying and carbonation. READ MORE
