16. Chemical Engineering of Small Affinity Proteins
Abstract : Small robust affinity proteins have shown great potential for use in therapy, in vivo diagnostics, and various biotechnological applications. However, the affinity proteins often need to be modified or functionalized to be successful in many of these applications. READ MORE

17. Site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for in vitro and in vivo studies
Abstract : The thesis is focused on site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for different applications where two types of binding proteins, Affibody molecules and antibodies, have been used. For the purpose of improving the properties of Affibody molecules for in vivo imaging, novel bi-functional chelators for radiolabeling using the radionuclide 111In were evaluated. READ MORE

18. Theoretical Studies on Magnetic and Photochemical Properties of Organic Molecules
Abstract : The present thesis is concerned with the theoretical studies on magnetic and photochemical properties of organic molecules. The ab initio and first principles theories were employed to investigate the vibrational effects on the isotropic hyperfine coupling constant (HFCC) known as the critical parameter in electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum, the theoretical simulations of the vibronically resolved molecular spectra, the photo-induced reaction mechanism of α-santonin and the spin-forbidden reaction of triplet-state dioxygen with cofactor-free enzyme. 19. Chemical Synthesis of Affibody Molecules for Protein Detection and Molecular Imaging
Abstract : Proteins are essential components in most processes in living organisms. The detection and quantification of specific proteins can be used e.g. as measures of certain physiological conditions, and are therefore of great importance. READ MORE

20. Bioactive adsorbates on gold surfaces : structural properties and bio-interaction studies
Abstract : This thesis investigates the properties of biomolecular, model adsorbates on gold such as amino acid derivatives, peptides and related organic molecules. Subsequent bin-interaction studies were also conducted. READ MORE
