1. Proteomics in biomarker research : Insights into the effects of aging and environment on biological systems
Abstract : Proteomics is the global analysis of proteins that covers a broad range of technologies aimed at determining the identity and quantity of proteins expressed in the cell, their three-dimensional structure and interaction partners. In contrast to genome, proteome reflects more accurately on the dynamic state of the cell, tissue, or an organism. READ MORE

2. Assessment of eosinophil degranulation in allergic diseases and experimental models
Abstract : In allergic disorders, the eosinophilic granulocytes migrate to affected tissues and release granule proteins with cytotoxic, immunoregulatory, and remodeling-promoting properties. Given that degranulation is reflected by a loss in eosinophil granule density of living cells, or by cell membrane rupture and release of intact granules, these morphological changes may represent a biomarker of the allergic disease. 3. Measurement of T1 relaxation time in lungs - Preclinical and clinical MRI applications to COPD
Abstract : Monitoring of regional lung function in clinical trials of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) requires alternative endpoints beyond global pulmonary function tests (PFTs), which is the most common approach for diagnosing lung function abnormalities in humans. A promising magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) biomarker of lung disease in humans and animals is the T1 relaxation parameter. READ MORE

4. Clinical studies of RNA as a prognostic and diagnostic marker for disease
Abstract : Technologies for RNA detection are evolving rapidly and gives an op-portunity for discovery of new markers for early detection of complex diseases. Today in clinical work we rely on signs and symptoms in com-bination with the measurement of protein levels for diagnosis. READ MORE

5. GARD – Genomic Allergen Rapid Detection : From Biomarker Discovery towards a State-of-the-art Testing Platform for Chemical Sensitizers
Abstract : Chemical hypersensitivity reactions induced in the skin or in the respiratory tract are important health concerns and develops following repeated exposure to certain chemicals, termed sensitizers. To prevent such hazardous compounds from entering the consumer market, legal frameworks within EU require chemicals to be tested for their capacity to induce hypersensitivity. READ MORE
