  1. 16. QCM-based sensing using biological and biomimetic interfaces

    Author : Louise Elmlund; Ian Nicholls; Teodor Aastrup; Jesper Wiklander; Kristina Nilsson-Ekdahl; Håkan Andersson; Susanne Wikman; Alessandra Maria Bossi; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quartz crystal microbalance; molecularly imprinted polymers; phage display; interactions; artificial receptors; recognition; selectivity; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis was to explore novel approaches for studying molecular recognition at biological and biomimetic surfaces using the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) biosensor technique. The first two papers focused on the synthesis and study of biotin selective polymer films prepared using the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) technique. READ MORE

  2. 17. GALIELLALACTONE ANALOGUES – SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES

    Author : Ritha Gidlöf; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Galiellalactone; one-pot peptide coupling and intramolecular Michael addition; tandem palladium-catalyzed carbonylation intramolecular Diels-Alder; STAT3 inhibition;

    Abstract : Cancer cells use normal cell signalling pathways in a proliferative fashion in order to prolong their own survival. Inhibition of one of the major signal proteins, STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) has previously been shown to induce apoptosis. READ MORE

  3. 18. Improving radioimmunotargeting of tumors : the impact of extracorporeal immunoadsorption and preload in rats

    Author : Michael Garkavij; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytology; preload.; immunoadsorption; MAb; rat; Tumor; radioimmunotargeting; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Abstract : In radioimmunotherapy of tumors, uptake of the monoclonal antibody (MAb) used is often too low in relation to its uptake in normal tissues. The purpose of these studies was to improve experimental tumor radioimmunotargeting with (a) extracorporeal immunoadsorption (ECIA), where excess of radiolabeled MAbs circulating in blood is removed, (b) or by preload with unlabeled MAb prior to injection of radiolabeled MAb, (c) or by a combination of these. 4. 19. High-Dose Radioimmunotherapy and Extracorporeal Depletion in A Syngeneic Rat Tumor Model

    Author : Linda Mårtensson; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : ABSTRACT Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) consists of using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) recognizing tumor-selective antigens, as carriers of cytotoxic radionuclides to tumor tissue. RIT has been effective in lymphoma but less successful in solid tumors. READ MORE

  5. 20. Radiolabeling and Biotinylation of Internalizing Monoclonal Antibody Chimeric BR96: Potential Use for Extracorporeal Immunoadsorption

    Author : Jianqing Chen; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serologi; Immunologi; transplantation; Immunology; serology;

    Abstract : In this thesis, methodology of radiolabeling and simultaneous biotinylation for internalizing monoclonal antibody (MAb) chimeric BR96 (chiBR96) have been investigated by using three element groups of potential therapeutic radionuclides iodine, indium and rhenium, and their different labeling methods. The biodistribution and kinetics of biotinylated and radiolabeled chiBR96 have been studied in colon carcinoma isografted rats. READ MORE
