6. Servicescapes seen by visually impaired travellers : Time-geography approach to servicescape research
Abstract : Knowledge gaps remain in the study of servicescapes, since existing research on servicescapes tends to ignore major advances in the understanding of space and time as social phenomena. One aspect that particularly requires further study is how emerging constraints influence customers’ interactions with organized service places. READ MORE

7. Blind Massive MIMO Base Stations : Downlink Transmission and Jamming
Abstract : Massive MIMO (Multiple-Input--Multiple-Output) is a cellular-network technology in which the base station is equipped with a large number of antennas and aims to serve several different users simultaneously, on the same frequency resource through spatial multiplexing. This is made possible by employing efficient beamforming, based on channel estimates acquired from uplink reference signals, where the base station can transmit the signals in such a way that they add up constructively at the users and destructively elsewhere. 8. Blind equalization using third-order moments
Abstract : The use of third-order moments in blind linear equalization has been studied with emphasis on their performance in on-line methods of low complexity. Blind equalization has widespread use in areas such as digital communications, acoustics, geophysical exploration, image processing and general measurement problems. READ MORE

9. Applied Methods for Blind Speech Enhancement
Abstract : Acoustic disturbances influence human speech communication by interfering with the communication process. In the worst case, it is impossible to communicate at all due to these disturbances. Methods that reduce the influence of the disturbances while preserving speech intelligibility are often desired. 10. Retinal function in deaf-blind syndromes
Abstract : A variety of disorders can cause retinal degeneration and hearing impairment, and it is of great value to have an early diagnosis since there is a large variation in phenotype and prognosis both within and between the different disorders. The general aim of this thesis was to characterize the retinal function, to describe the phenotype, and – where appropriate – to relate the phenotype to genotype in patients with combined visual and hearing impairment.
