1. Crustacean immunity : Characterization of some crayfish blood proteins
Abstract : The cDNA sequence and some properties of a previously purified #x03B2;-1,3-glucan binding protein are reported here. The putative amino acid sequence (predicted molecular mass: 152 kDa) of the protein did not show any significant similarity to any known protein, but an RGD motif and a region with slight similarity to bacterial glucanase was found. 2. Studies on the Polymorphism and Transcriptional Regulation of the ABO and P1PK Histo-blood Group Genes
Abstract : Antigens of the clinically important ABO and P1PK blood group systems are carbohydrate structures. Thus the underlying genes do not encode antigens directly but glycosyltransferases that add specific sugar molecules to selected precursor chains. READ MORE

3. Computational analysis of oligosaccharide conformations – methodological development, applied studies, and design of glycomimetics
Abstract : Carbohydrates are the most abundant class of biomolecules. Besides their roles as structural elements and energy storage, they are involved in signaling and recognition processes. Their functions and activities depend on their preferred conformations. READ MORE

4. Clinical and etiological studies on dementia of Alzheimer type and multiinfarct dementia
Abstract : 1. Clinical studies. Clinical diagnosis of dementia has been made largely on the basis of clinical findings supported by appropriate radiological and laboratory investigations. A minority of patients have treatable or reversible underlying causes for their dementing syndrome. READ MORE

5. Biochemical and Physiological Characterization of Nonsymbiotic Plant Hemoglobins
Abstract : Hemoglobins (Hb) are usually associated with blood in humans. However, these proteins are widely distributed among living organisms. In plants the most known group are the leghemoglobins. Still, other Hbs that not participate in symbiosis are also found. READ MORE
