1. BMP implants in bone formation. Studies in rabbits and rats
Abstract : Bone morphogenic proteins, BMPs, are a group endogenous proteins that are highly conserved through evolution. The amino acid sequences of about 15 different BMPs are now known and recombinant human BMPs are commercially available. Implantation of an individual BMP protein is sufficient to induce bone formation even at a subcutaneous site. READ MORE

2. THE ROLE OF BMP SIGNALING AND ENDOGLIN IN REGULATION OF HEMATOPOIESIS
Abstract : Hematopoiesis, the formation of blood cells, ultimately depends on a rare population of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which can both self-renew to maintain the HSC pool, and differentiate into all mature blood lineages. HSC fate decisions are governed by a complex combination of numerous signals, although the molecular mechanisms are not fully understood. READ MORE

3. Cross-regulation between TGFβ/BMP Signalling and the metabolic LKB1 pathway
Abstract : Cell signalling determines physiological responses to many cellular stimuli and environmental changes. The transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ)/bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signalling pathways begin by binding of ligand to the heterodimeric receptor complex, followed by activation of Smads that translocate to the nucleus to regulate transcription of genes that further mediate cellular physiology. 4. Enhancing bone healing through concurrent anabolic- and anti-catabolic pharmacological treatment
Abstract : Most fractures heal uneventfully but some evolve into nonunions. Autologous bone graft is the gold standard for stimulating healing. However, donor site morbidity, and limited graft supply make alternatives interesting. Bone Morphogenetic Proteins, BMPs, are growth factors involved in bone signaling. READ MORE

5. Regulation of cell differentiation and invasion by members of the TGFß family
Abstract : Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) and bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathways are important in embryonic development and tissue homeostasis, but also have complex roles in the context of cancer. TGFβ promotes epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) a physiological developmental process, often hijacked in different types of cancer, eventually leading to cancer cell invasion and metastasis.
