1. Modelling of Substance Flows in Urban Drainage Systems
Abstract : Stormwater is recognised as a large contributor of toxic substances to receiving waters. Different measures to manage stormwater quality have been proposed, including structural and non-structural best management practices (BMPs). Computer models have become useful tools for the analysis, evaluation and design of these BMPs. READ MORE

2. Signaling mechanisms underlying neural stem cell differentiation. Implications of BMPs, retinoids, and MAP kinases
Abstract : Introduction: Neural stem cells are proliferating cells, derived from the nervous system with the ability to give rise to neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. The molecular events and signaling pathways regulating neural stem cell differentiation are largely unknown. READ MORE

3. BMP implants in bone formation. Studies in rabbits and rats
Abstract : Bone morphogenic proteins, BMPs, are a group endogenous proteins that are highly conserved through evolution. The amino acid sequences of about 15 different BMPs are now known and recombinant human BMPs are commercially available. Implantation of an individual BMP protein is sufficient to induce bone formation even at a subcutaneous site. READ MORE

4. Beneficial Use of Stormwater - Opportunities for urban renewal and water conservation
Abstract : This thesis investigates the beneficial use of stormwater in Swedish urban environments. The focus has been on open stormwater systems for source control, as well as rainwater collection systems. To analyse the implementation of open stormwater systems, two case studies are presented: Augustenborg in Malmö and Bäckaslöv wetland in Växjö. READ MORE

5. Experimental Studies of BMP Signalling in Neuronal Cells
Abstract : The developing nervous system depends largely on extracellular cues to shape its complex network of neurons. Classically, neurotrophins are known to be important mediators in this process. READ MORE
