    Abstract : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain. 2. 2. LCC Applications for Bridges and Integration with BMS

    Author : Mohammed Safi; Håkan Sundquist; Raid Karoumi; Milan Veljkovic; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bridge; Management; life-Cycle Costing; LCC; Bridge Management System; SRA - Transport; SRA - Transport; Järnvägsgruppen - Infrastruktur; Järnvägsgruppen - Infrastruktur;

    Abstract : Bridges are vital links in many transport networks and represent a big capital investment for both governments and taxpayers. They have to be managed in a way that ensures society's needs are optimally met. In many countries, bridges are mainly managed using bridge management systems (BMSs). READ MORE

  3. 3. Evaluation of Thermal Comfort and Night Ventilation in a Historic Office Building in Nordic Climate

    Author : Hossein Bakhtiari; Mathias Cehlin; Jan Akander; Abolfazl Hayati; Patrik Rohdin; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; historic buildings; office buildings; Nordic climate; thermal comfort; field on-site measurements; standardized questionnaire; building management system BMS ; night ventilation NV ; building energy simulation BES ; IDA-ICE; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Abstract : Envelopes with low thermal performance are common characteristics in European historic buildings resulting in insufficient thermal comfort and higher energy use compared to modern buildings. There are different types of applications for the European historic buildings such as historic churches, historic museums, historic theatres, etc. READ MORE

  4. 4. Endothelin in the pulmonary circulation with special reference to hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction

    Author : Peter Holm; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : bosentan; BMS-182874; ; BQ-123; BQ-788; endothelin; endothelium; hypoxia; hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction; pulmonary hypertension; receptor antagonism; TBC 11251.;

    Abstract : A number of substances originating from the pulmonary endothelium have recently been found to be involved in the regulation of pulmonary vascular tone. Accumulating evidence suggests that endothelial dysfunction contributes to pulmonary hypertension, an important clinical problem often associated with hypoxemia. READ MORE
