1. Studies of the Boundary Behaviour of Functions Related to Partial Differential Equations and Several Complex Variables
Abstract : This thesis consists of a comprehensive summary and six scientific papers dealing with the boundary behaviour of functions related to parabolic partial differential equations and several complex variables.Paper I concerns solutions to non-linear parabolic equations of linear growth. 2. Boundary integral methods for Stokes flow : Quadrature techniques and fast Ewald methods
Abstract : Fluid phenomena dominated by viscous effects can, in many cases, be modeled by the Stokes equations. The boundary integral form of the Stokes equations reduces the number of degrees of freedom in a numerical discretization by reformulating the three-dimensional problem to two-dimensional integral equations to be discretized over the boundaries of the domain. 3. Holomorphic extension and schlichtness on tube manifolds
Abstract : We first investigate the holomorphic extension of some classical and accessible classes of domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$ to know to what extent their envelopes are constructive. We give alternative proofs to some of the classical theorems using only first-principle arguments and without involving higher Stein geometry. READ MORE

4. Frame dynamics and stakeholders in risk governance
Abstract : The EU governance of food safety and GM food and feed has gone through significant changes since the BSE crisis and food scares during the 1990s. This work focuses on one particular new feature; the role of stakeholders representing the food chain: biotech associations, farmer organizations, food and feed processors, consumer organizations and environmental NGOs. 5. Numerical Computations of Wakes Behind Wind Farms : A tool to study Farm to Farm interaction
Abstract : More and larger wind farms are planned offshore. As the most suitable sites to build are limited these new wind farms will be constructed near to each other in so called wind farm clusters. Behind the wind turbines in these farms there is a disrupted flow of air called a wake that is characterized by reduced wind speed and increased turbulence. READ MORE
