1. Physical Modeling of Brain and Head Kinematics
Abstract : The development of head injury criteria and countermeasures for head protection requires understanding of how different factors affect brain and head kinematics. In this thesis, 2D physical models of the human head were developed and used to evaluate how various factors affect brain kinematics during angular head kinematics. READ MORE

2. Knee function, knee proprioception and related brain activity following anterior cruciate ligament injury
Abstract : Background: Injury of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) may have negative effects on the short- and long-term function and proprioception of the knee joint. However, existing tests of knee function are often sports-related and less relevant for assessment in the very long term and there remains no ‘gold standard’ test of knee proprioception. READ MORE

3. Sensorimotor function following anterior cruciate ligament injury : movement control, proprioception and neuropsychological perspectives
Abstract : Background: The high incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in sports suggests an involvement of both biomechanical and neurocognitive risk factors. Athletes are constantly exposed to challenging sports scenarios, which are often characterised by high-intensity movements combined with a multi-stimuli environment and continuous psychological pressure. 4. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity
Abstract : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer.
