  2. 2. Vehicle Disc Brake Roughness Noise : Experimental Study of the Interior Noise andVibro-Acoustic Modelling of Suspension Systems

    Author : Eskil Lindberg; Nils-Erik Hörlin; Peter Göransson; Wolfgang Kropp; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; acoustics; disc brake; surface topography; wire brush noise; roughness noise; component mode synthesis; vehicle suspension;

    Abstract : Prediction of vehicle disc brake roughness noise is a non-trivial challenge. In fact, neither the source mechanisms, nor the transfer paths are so far well understood. READ MORE

  4. 4. Brake Judder

    Author : Helena Jakobsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Brake judder is a braking induced, forced vibration occurring in different types of vehicles. The frequency can be as high as 500 Hz, but usually remains below 100 Hz and often as low as 10-20 Hz. The driver experiences judder as vibrations in the steering wheel, brake pedal and floor. 5. 5. Friction and contact phenomena of disc brakes related to squeal

    Author : Mikael Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Tribology; contact mechanics; squeal; brake pad; disc brake; friction; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Abstract : Brake squeal is a sound with a main frequency between 1 and 20 kHz, generated by an oscillation of the components of the brake system. The energy driving the oscillation is supplied by the friction between the disc and the pads. READ MORE
