  1. 1. Corporate Entrepreneurship as a Business Development Strategy

    Author : Kent Thorén; Terrence Brown; Candida Brush; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Corporate entreprenurship; strategy; business; management; business development.; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi;

    Abstract : Previous research has generated a substantial body of knowledge regarding the exploration and exploitation of opportunities, two of the main manifest activities of entrepreneurship. This thesis does not primarily examine any of these activities; instead it investigates an important question regarding what happens between them. READ MORE

  2. 2. Interpolymer complexation of a polymer brush

    Author : John Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; functional materials; macromolecular gating; Interpolymer complex; nanopores; polymer brush; pH responsive;

    Abstract : Controllable macromolecular gating between nanoscopic compartments is of high interest for single molecule studies of biological macromolecules. By definition, a good macromolecular gate should completely stop biomolecules, such as proteins, from crossing between compartments in its closed state while letting them pass in its open state. Abstract : Nanobiotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that has garnered considerable attention for offering exciting new opportunities of studying and manipulating biomolecules at the nanoscale. This prospect bears large potential benefits in the field of medicine and the whole life science sector in general. READ MORE

  4. 4. Poly(Ethylene Oxide) Based Bottle-Brush Polymers and their Interaction with the Anionic Surfactant Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate : Solution and Interfacial Properties

    Author : Joseph Iruthayaraj; Per M. Claesson; Regine v. Klitzing; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PEO brush polymers; brush polymers; PEO; poly ethylene oxide ; polymer-surfactant; sodium dodecyl sulphate SDS ; Ellipsomtery; PEO-SDS interactions; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis work is to study the physico-chemical properties of poly(ethylene oxide), PEO, based brush polymers both in solution and at solid/aqueous interfaces. The importance of studying the surface properties of brush polymers can be related to a broad spectrum of interfacial-related applications such as colloidal stability, lubrication, detergency, protein repellency to name a few. Abstract : This thesis has the dual purpose of raising awareness of the importance of the mixing protocol on the end products of polyelectrolyte-oppositely charged surfactant systems, and to contribute to a better understanding of the properties of bottle-brush polyelectrolytes when adsorbed onto interfaces. In the first part of this thesis work, the effects of the mixing protocol and the mixing procedure on formed polyelectrolyte-oppositely charged surfactant aggregates were investigated. READ MORE
