12. From pattern to process : Studies on limestone grassland, with emphasis on the bryophyte-lichen layer and its effects on vascular plants
Abstract : Patterns in space and time at different scales in the bryophyte-lichen layer, aud multi-species spatial patterns of bryophytes, lichens and vascular plants were studied in Avenetum limestone grassland on the Great Alvar of the Baltic Island of Öland, south-eastem Sweden.Spatiotemporal patterns of bryophytes and Iichens in grazed and ungrazed alvar grassland demonstrated that dominant species forming large patches were relatively stable in time, whereas less frequent species forming small patches were more mobile. 13. Island biogeography of young land uplift islands - viewed through the lens of bryophytes in a northern Swedish archipelago
Abstract : Increasing habitat fragmentation and rapid global warming is changing the conditions for species populations and ecological communities around the world. This presents challenges for the maintenance of biodiversity and a dominant paradigm for conservation in fragmented habitats is given by island biogeography and metapopulation (or metacommunity) ecology. 14. Taxonomy of Schistidium (Grimmiaceae, Bryophyta)
Abstract : Schistidium Brid. is a bryophyte genus mainly distributed in temperate to arctic zones. This revision is based on field, herbarium, and literature studies. There are descriptions of the genus and the 12 species and discussions of morphology, relationships, history, nomenclature, habitat, and distribution, and keys to accepted taxa. READ MORE

15. The tRNALeu (UAA) Intron of Cyanobacteria : Towards Understanding a Genetic Marker
Abstract : The tRNALeu (UAA) intron has been recorded in the plastid genome of many algae and land plants and was the first intron to be discovered in cyanobacteria. In all known cases it interrupts the tRNALeu anticodon loop at a conserved position (U-intron-AA). READ MORE
