1. Experimental Heat Transfer, pressure drop, and Flow Visualization of R-134a in Vertical Mini/Micro Tubes
Abstract : For the application of minichannel heat exchangers, it is necessary to have accurate design tools for predicting heat transfer and pressure drop. Until recently, this type of heat exchangers was not well studied, and in the scientific literature there were large discrepancies between results reported by different investigators. READ MORE

2. Downstream migration of salmonids in regulated rivers : Non-conventional methods for fish diversion
Abstract : Passages through hydropower plants can be fatal for downstream migrating salmonids (Salmo spp.). This is particularly true for large adults that are returning to the ocean after spawning. READ MORE

3. Steam condensation in a water pool and its effect on thermal stratification and mixing
Abstract : The Pressure Suppression Pool (PSP) of a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) is a large heat sink designed to limit the containment pressure by condensing steam released from the primary coolant system. The development of thermal stratification is a safety concern since it leads to higher containment pressures than in completely mixed conditions, and can affect the performance of systems such as the emergency core cooling and containment spray, which the use PSP as a source of water. 4. Thermodynamics and Kinetics in Metallurgical Processes - with a Special Focus on Bubble Dynamics
Abstract : Gas stirring is commonly used in the steelmaking processes to reinforce chemical reactions, kinetic transfer, and inclusion removal, etc. This dissertation concentrates on multiphase flows with gas bubbling to study fluid dynamics and thermodynamics in metallurgical processes. READ MORE

5. A Study of Bubble and Inclusion Behaviors in a Liquid Steel Bath
Abstract : The bubble formation processes in a water model experiment were measured by a high-speed camera. Nozzle diameters of 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 2 mm were investigated under both wetting and non-wetting conditions. READ MORE
