21. Shear walls with double plasterboards : evalutation of design models
Abstract : This thesis presents a part of the ECSC-project Development of dry composite construction systems based on steel in residential application that focus on design recommendations for stabilizing buildings by using shear resistance in the walls. The existing design method suggested and used by the Swedish plasterboard manufacturer Gyproc AB is considered as a bit conservative and it does not consider double plasterboards properly. READ MORE

22. Modelling of Traffic Loads on Bridges Based on Measurements of Real Traffic Loads in Sweden
Abstract : This thesis treats traffic load effects in road bridges and in particular bending moment and shear force in different types of bridges. All traffic load effects are described in terms of statistical distribution functions for annual extreme values. READ MORE

23. Industrial Fibre Concrete Floors : Experiences and Tests on Pile-Supported Slab
Abstract : Pile supported floor slabs have often been designed solely in ultimate limit state ULS and then foremost with uniformly distributed loadings UDL. The investigation of serviceability limit state SLS has been of simpler nature, even according to the governing codes of practice. READ MORE

24. Energy Efficiency in Shopping Malls : Some Aspects Based on a Case Study
Abstract : The building sector accounts for approximately 40 percent of our energy use. To reach existing environmental targets energy use will have to be reduced in all building types. At the European level, the main legislative instrument for improving the energy efficiency of the building stock is the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). READ MORE

25. Environmental Assessment of Buildings and the influence on architectural design
Abstract : This licentiate thesis examines environmental assessment tools for buildings. This is done by investigating, analysing, comparing and testing how different environmental assessment tools measure the environmental performance of buildings and examining the consequences this may have on architectural design.
