  1. 21. Optimal Energy Scheduling of Grid-connected Microgrids with Battery Energy Storage

    Author : Kyriaki Antoniadou-Plytaria; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy management; Battery energy storage; distribution network; optimization; energy scheduling; microgrids;

    Abstract : The coupling of small-scale renewable-based energy sources, such as photovoltaic systems, with residential battery energy storages forms clusters of local energy resources and customers, which can be represented as controllable entities to the main distribution grid. The operation of these clusters is similar to that of grid-connected microgrids. READ MORE

  2. 22. Climate and Energy Use in Glazed Spaces

    Author : Maria Wall; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Byggnadsteknik; Building construction; design tool; field measurements; calculations; thermal comfort; cooling; heating; energy requirement; solar energy; climate; atrium buildings; glazed spaces;

    Abstract : Glazed spaces ranging from small glazed verandas to large atrium buildings have become a common feature in architecture. A glazed space is greatly affected by aspects of the outside climate such as insolation and temperature. READ MORE

  3. 23. Primary energy use of residential buildings : implications of materials, modelling and design approaches

    Author : Uniben Yao Ayikoe Tettey; Leif Gustavsson; Ambrose Dodoo; Jan-Olof Dalenbäck; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; primary energy use; material production; simulation; input parameters; design strategies; climate change; overheating; residential buildings; Technology byts ev till Engineering ; Teknik; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Abstract : Buildings can play an essential role in the transition to a sustainable society. Different strategies, including improved energy efficiency in buildings, substitution of carbon intensive materials and fuels, efficient energy supply among others can be employed for this purpose. 4. 24. Radiation properties of coil-coated steel in building envelope surfaces and the influence on building thermal performance

    Author : Ali Joudi; Bahram Moshfegh; Mats Rönnelid; Harald Svedung; Mathias Cehlin; Runming Yao; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy and Built Environments; Energi och samhällsbyggnad;

    Abstract : Recent studies have shown that the optical properties of building exterior surfaces are important in terms of energy use and thermal comfort. While the majority of the studies are related to exterior surfaces, the radiation properties of interior surfaces are less thoroughly investigated. READ MORE

  5. 25. Utilizing solar energy for anti-icing road surfaces using hydronic heating pavement with low temperature

    Author : Raheb Mirzanamadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar energy; asphalt concrete; ground heat exchanger; anti-icing; optimization;

    Abstract : During summer, the surface temperature of an asphalt road pavement can rise up to 70°C due to absorbed solar radiation. The high temperature degrades the performance of the asphalt concrete by accelerating the thermal oxidation and plastic deformation, especially under heavy traffic loads. READ MORE
