1. Fire safety evaluation of multifunctional buildings - Special emphasis on antagonistic attacks and protection of sensitive areas
Abstract : Multifunctional buildings, often hosting societal important functions, have become increasingly more common during the last years. The combination of many functions within the same building as well as an increased exposure to antagonistic attacks create new, not previously well analyzed problems for fire safety. READ MORE

2. Decision Analysis in Fire Safety Engineering - Analysing Investments in Fire Safety
Abstract : The application of decision analytical methods to the evaluation of investments in fire safety was investigated, particularly with the aim of being able to suggest a method for analysing a specific investment in fire safety for a specific factory. Attention was directed above all at the handling of cases of large epistemic uncertainty regarding both probabilities and utilities, Bayesian decision theory serving as a basis for the development of the method. 3. Safety in Case of Fire - The Effect of Changing Regulations
Abstract : In this doctoral thesis some fundamental problems concerning society's ability to control the safety in buildings in the case of fire by issuing performance-based building regulations are identified and analysed. Fire protection documentation from forty-six projects was studied, together with a detailed analysis of the Swedish building regulations and an extensive risk analysis of a class of buildings. 4. The Development of a European Fire Classification System for Building Products - Test Methods and Mathematical Modelling
Abstract : The fire technical properties of products are determining factors for the initiation and growth of fires. Measurement of fire technical properties and the understanding of how they relate to real hazards are therefore important for fire safety. READ MORE

5. An Engineering Approach to Fire Fighting Tactics
Abstract : This report presents a quantified model as a guide for the Incident Commander to determine the most suitable fire-fighting tactics in advance for given conditions at specific objects. The model is applied to two chemical warehouses. READ MORE
