1. Cohesive and Spectroscopic properties of the Lanthanides within the Hubbard I Approximation
Abstract : We describe the rare-earth elements using the Hubbard I approximation. We show that the theory reproduces the cohesive properties, like the volume and bulk modulus, and we find an excellent agreement between theory and experiment for the (inverse) photo emission spectra of the valence band. 2. Analyses of Resilient Behavior of Unbound Materials for the Purpose of Predicting Permanent Deformation Behavior
Abstract : Post compaction is the unintended compaction of the unbound material that commences immediately after a road is brought into service and caused by densification of the material. Analogies to this post compaction can also be seen in laboratory and field tests. READ MORE

3. Volumetric Analysis in Mechanical Behaviour and Physical Ageing of Polymers
Abstract : Volumetric changes associated with the deformation of ideal elastic solids depends on elastic constants of the solid and applied strain. Their magnitude is easily determined from the corresponding Poisson's ratios. READ MORE

4. Zinc Oxide Bulk and Nanorods
Abstract : Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has many promising properties for optoelectronics, sensor applications, transparent electronics etc. To mention a few, ZnO has a large exciton binding energy (60 meV at room temperature) and a direct wide bandgap energy of 3.37 eV. In addition, ZnO is piezoelectric and shows more resistance to radiation damage than Si and GaN. READ MORE

5. Macroscopic Volume and Free Volume of Polymer Blends and Pressure-densified Polymers
Abstract : The macroscopic volume V as a function of pressure P and temperature T is obtained from PVT measurements. PVT data is sensitive to the state of polymers and changes therein. Moreover, PVT data gives access to the free-volume fraction. READ MORE
