11. Spaceborne SAR in Sea Ice Monitoring: Algorithm Development and Validation for the Baltic Sea
Abstract : The usefulness of new spaceborne synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) sensors at L-, C-, and X-band for operational sea ice monitoring in the Baltic Sea has been evaluated. It is concluded that the information content in C-band and X-band data is largely equivalent, although larger spatial coverage is an advantage of the current C-band satellites. READ MORE

12. Modelling Wave Power by Equivalent Circuit Theory
Abstract : The motion of ocean waves can be captured and converted into usable electricity. This indicates that wave power has the potential to supply electricity to grids like wind or solar power. A point absorbing wave energy converter (WEC) system has been developed for power production at Uppsala University. READ MORE

13. Wave Energy Converters : An experimental approach to onshore testing, deployments and offshore monitoring
Abstract : The wave energy converter (WEC) concept developed at Uppsala University consists of a point absorbing buoy, directly connected to a permanent magnet linear generator. Since 2006, over a dozen full scale WECs have been deployed at the Lysekil Research Site, on the west coast of Sweden. READ MORE

14. Modelling of Ocean Wave Energy Conversion for Increased Power Absorption
Abstract : The Earth is also called the blue planet, because more than 70 % of its surface is covered by water, mainly in oceans and seas. Wind blowing over the oceans is creating water waves, which can travel thousands of kilometers with just a small energy loss. READ MORE

15. Offshore Marine Substation for Grid-Connection of Wave Power Farms : An Experimental Approach
Abstract : Wave power is a renewable energy source with great potential, which is why there are more than a hundred ongoing wave power projects around the world. At the Division of Electricity, Uppsala University, a point-absorber type wave energy converter (WEC) has been proposed and developed. READ MORE
