1. tRNA Gene Structures in Bacteria
Abstract : In bacteria, tRNA molecules are produced as precursors with additional nucleotides both upstream and downstream of the tRNA coding sequence. To generate a mature tRNA, the endoribonuclease RNase P removes the upstream sequence, while a number of enzymes can remove the downstream sequence. READ MORE

2. Lake bathymetry as driver of salmonid population size structure and biomass
Abstract : Most fish species undergo ontogenetic niche shifts from feeding on pelagic zooplankton, to larger benthic invertebrates and in some cases also to fish. These ontogenetic niche shifts have strong impact on the interactions within and between species, with effects on individual growth, population abundance and food web dynamics. READ MORE

3. The Kluyveromyces lactis killer toxin is a transfer RNA endonuclease
Abstract : Killer strains of the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis secrete a heterotrimeric protein toxin (zymocin) to inhibit the growth of sensitive yeasts. The cytotoxicity of zymocin resides in the γ subunit (γ-toxin), however the mechanism of cytotoxicity caused by γ-toxin was previously unknown. READ MORE

4. Fire temperature development in enclosures : Some theoretical and experimental studies
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to problems connected to heat transfer and fire dynamics in enclosures. The thesis consists of a main part which summarizes and discusses the theory of heat transfer, conservation of energy and fire dynamics. Based on these theories, some cases of different fire scenarios have been analyzed. READ MORE

5. Some new developments and applications of the homogenization theory
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to some problems connected to the theory of homogenization of partial differential operators. The thesis consists of an introduction and three different parts, A-C. In the introduction we give an elementary presentation of the basic ideas in the homogenization theory. READ MORE
