    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Psoriasis; calgranulin a; calgranulin b; depression; comedication; biomarkers; NBUVB.;

    Abstract : Psoriasis is a common heterogeneous inflammatory disease with its predominant manifestation occurring in the skin. The impact of this disease, however, extends far beyond the skin surface. READ MORE

  2. 2. Lipoproteomics : A New Approach to the Identification and Characterization of Proteins in LDL and HDL

    Author : Helen Karlsson; Mats Lindahl; Christer Tagesson; Pia Davidsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LDL; HDL; Proteomik; Atheroskleros; Masspektrometri; 2-DE; Molecular medicine; Molekylär medicin;

    Abstract : A proteomic approach was applied to examine the protein composition of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in humans. LDL and HDL were isolated by density gradient ultracentrifugation, and proteins were separated with twodimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and identified with peptide mass fingerprinting, using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry, and with amino acid sequencing using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. 3. 3. Lipoproteomics : mapping of proteins in LDL and HDL

    Author : Helen Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : High-density lipoprotein (HDL) and (LDL)-density lipoprotein (LDL) are important lipoprotein fractions in human plasma. HDL is the most abundant lipoprotein particle and a negative risk factor of atherosclerosis while LDL is considered to possess atherogenic properties. READ MORE

  4. 4. Pathophysiology in postterm pregnancy : epidemiology, risk factors and cervical ripening

    Author : Nathalie Roos; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : postterm pregnancy;

    Abstract : Background: Postterm pregnancy, defined as a pregnancy of 42 or more completed weeks of gestation, occurs in approximately 5-10 % of all pregnancies. The condition is associated with increased maternal and fetal morbidity as well as an increased risk of perinatal mortality. READ MORE

  5. 5. Aspects of inflammation and nitric oxide in cluster headache

    Author : Anna Steinberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Cluster Headache;

    Abstract : Cluster Headache (CH) is an uncommon headache disorder, with severe implications for the individual patient. The headache is excruciating, unilateral and appearing in attacks. It is common that CH patients show ipsilateral associated symptoms, like for example conjunctival injection, lacrimation and nasal congestion. READ MORE
