11. Development of the read-out link and control board for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Upgrade
Abstract : The Phase-II upgrade plan for the ATLAS Hadronic Tile Calorimeter facing the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era includes approximately 1000 radiation tolerant read-out link and control boards (Daughterboards) that will provide full-granularity digital data to a fully-digital trigger system off-detector through multi-Gbps optic fibres. Different Daughterboard (DB) revisions have been developed, each successively aiming to meet the demanding HL-LHC requirements. READ MORE

12. Search for Charginos and Sleptons in ATLAS and Identification of Pile-up with the Tile Calorimeter
Abstract : The standard model of particle physics (SM) describes the elementary particles and their interactions. Supersymmetry (SUSY), a symmetry beyond those included in the standard model could resolve some of the SM shortcomings. It can provide a candidate for Dark Matter and a solution to the hierarchy problem. READ MORE

13. Testing large samples of PCM in water calorimeter and PCM used in room applications by night-air cooling
Abstract : The latent-heat-storage capacity in Phase-Change Materials can be used for storing or releasing energy within a small temperature interval. Upon the phase transition taking place in a narrow temperature span, the material takes up or releases more energy compared to sensible heat storage. READ MORE

14. Design of the HIBEAM/NNBAR Calorimeter and Upgrades to the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Readout Electronics
Abstract : The Standard Model has been greatly successful in predicting the laws that govern our universe. Yet there are still seemingly missing pieces to the model. READ MORE

15. Counting Calories : Studies of Energy Loss in a Segmented Calorimeter
Abstract : The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) is a space mission with anticipated launch in 2007. The aim is to study the gamma-ray sky in the energy range 10 keV – 300 GeV. The GLAST electromagnetic calorimeter is 8.6X0 deep and has a total of 1536 CsI(Tl) crystals each measuring 32. READ MORE
